So here we go, a winter motorcycle trip on my $200 motorcycle named ‘Connie’.
I didn’t know where I was going or where it would lead but the first plan was to head North on the West coast from Long Beach California.
Like trip 1, I’d sleep in a tent, carry my own supplies, ride day and night and let the adventure unfold itself.
Here are a few pictures from my 2,000 mile round trip on a 1989, Kawasaki, EX500……with over 125,000 miles on the clock.

Connie packed and ready for action!!… Trip 2. 8pm, Christmas eve

X-Mas day morning, riding the #1 coast road North from LA. It was stunning, cold and v-windy..

Christmas day night, San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge, it had been one hell of a tough day in the wind, plus I was cold… enjoyed most of it……..i think…..

Boxing day morning. I had no idea where I’d set up camp as it was dark. I was amazed, de-lighted and v-pleased to wake up where I did, lucky…

Almost at the end of the #1 and this was the first sign of snow, the roads were getting trickier and the tyres (tires) were hardly great… slow going

The rain in Klamath/North California stopped me in my tracks. I wasn’t to bothered as the night before I’d nearly got eaten by a bear and shot so I was happy to stay put and wait…

Klamath, day 2 of rain. I was getting itchy feet and wanted to go…the rain had other ideas

Day 3 in Klamath, I was in the eye of the storm… South was my only option.

So of course I headed East and hit snow….it would be great practice for where I was heading…

Yosemite village. Connie and I was the only motorcycle to make it into Yosemite for months. We suprised a few 4×4 drivers using chains….
That was just a taster, many more to follow soon….
Thanks for looking!!
Jamie
